War in Iraq

Each day, as we go through our normal lives, there is generally someone who says something about the war in Iraq.  Everyone has their opinions as to why we are at war.  Some people say it is to protect the good people in Iraq, some say it is because of the oil wells in the middle east, some say it was because of the threat of nuclear weapons, and some say it was a reaction to the 9/11 attack.  I personally believe that there are other underlying issues that we do not know about, and may never know about.  The fact of the matter is this, many people have family members that are in the war and would like to see them come home soon.

To the members of the military currently in Iraq or that served in Iraq, no matter what the uniform, Thank You for keeping this country safe.  You are the reason that we can maintain our freedom each and every day that we get out of bed.  God bless you all!

Captain Kidd’s Pirate Ship Found

The wreckage of a pirate ship abandoned in the late 17th century was found by the Indiana Underwater Archaeology Team.  This boat was found only 70 ft off the shore of Catalina Island in the Dominican Republic, which amazes them how it had not been found at an earlier time.  Click Here for More Info. 

As a kid, and even today, I dream of sailing the open seas as a boat Captain with no cares except what lies ahead.  This find brings up memories of those dreams.

Christmas Shopping Blues

I am convinced that the only thing less appealing to me than Christmas shopping would be pulling off my fingernails with pliers one-by-one.  It amazes me how many people will go to stores just before Christmas for the sales when all they did was raise the price and reduce back to near the original price.  I say this because I just got back from shopping a short while ago.  Next year, I may just do all my shopping online to avoid the crowds, fake discounts, and long lines at the registers.

Winter is Here!

Winter is here again and with winter comes Christmas shopping, or Holiday shopping if we are to be politically correct.  Speaking of which, do we not live in a country that denotes freedom of speech? With that said, this year I put up my CHRISTMAS tree, CHRISTMAS lights, went CHRISTMAS shopping, bought CHRISTMAS gifts, and will celebrate CHRISTMAS with a CHRISTMAS party. Wow! I feel better. I believe that we sometimes take things a little too far when we are looking out for the best interest of the whole. I do not have a problem with other religions within my country, so why is it they seem to have a problem with mine?  I do not mind if people want to put up a Hanukkah tree or Muslim tree. It is not my fault if they do not have one in their religion.  Click Here For An Article from CNN on this Topic.
